RESTRAINT OF CHILDREN
THE CURRENT STATUS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DEVICES FOR THE RESTRAINT OF CHILDREN IN AUTOMOBILES IS REVIEWED. THE INFANT LOVE SEAT AND THE CHILD LOVE SEAT ARE DISCUSSED ALONG WITH THE BIOMECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CHILDREN THAT PERTAIN TO CHILD RESTRAINT DESIGN. THE RESTRAINT OF CHILDREN NOT USING SPECIAL CHILD SAFETY DEVICES IS ALSO TREATED. THIS INCLUDES THE RESULTS OF STUDIES USING THE PROPOSED 1974 BELT SYSTEMS.
