DROWSINESS AND DRIVING: PRELIMINARY REPORT OF A POPULATION SURVEY
THE STUDY WAS DESIGNED TO TEST THE HYPOTHESES THAT DROWSINESS AT THE WHEEL IS A BEHAVIORAL PHENOMENON EXPERIENCED BY A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE DRIVING POPULATION, AND THAT IT IS A CONTRIBUTING CASUAL FACTOR IN VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS. THE QUESTIONNAIRE, ASKED OF 1500 APPLICANTS FOR LICENSE RENEWAL, IS REPRODUCED, AND FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION OF ANSWERS, BY PERCENTAGE, IS PRESENTED. RESPONSES TO SEVERAL QUESTIONS WERE ALSO ARRAYED ACROSS DEMOGRAPHIC AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POPULATION. /AUTHOR/
