THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND MARIJUANA ON A MANUAL TRACKING TASK
THE APPROACH TAKEN INVOLVES THE USE OF LINEAR MATHEMATICAL MODELS (DESCRIBING FUNCTIONS) TO DESCRIBE THE HUMAN OPERATOR. THIS GENERATES DATA IN A FORM IDEALLY SUITED TO SYSTEM EVALUATION IN TERMS OF LINEAR CONTROL THEORY. OF PRIMARY INTEREST WAS THE ASSESSMENT OF THE TECHNIQUE AS A TOOL FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF DRUG EFFECTS ON HUMAN PERFORMANCE IN SITUATIONS RESEMBLING THE CAR DRIVING TASK. TWO COMPLETE PROGRAMS WERE CARRIED OUT, ONE INVOLVING BOTH ALCOHOL AND MARIJUANA AND THE OTHER ALCOHOL ALONE. THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN PRESENTED IN A COMMON FORMAT, WHERE POSSIBLE, IN ORDER TO FACILITATE COMPARISONS. /AUTHOR/
