JUDGMENT OF VEHICLE SPEEDS AND TRAFFIC PATTERNS
REPORTS ARE PRESENTED ON THE ABILITY OF DRIVERS TO ESTIMATE THEIR OWN AND OTHER VEHICLE SPEEDS (ABSOLUTE); THEIR OWN AND OTHER VEHICLE RELATIVE SPEEDS; THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF HIGHWAY STRIPING AS IT RELATES TO THE LAWFULNESS OF PASSING; THEIR JUDGMENTAL ABILITY TO DETERMINE THE SAFENESS OF PASSING ON A MOUNTAINOUS ROAD; AND THEIR REACTIONS TO AN EXPERIMENTAL NO PASSING ZONE SIGN.
