HEAVY FUEL OPERATION WITH PIELSTICK ENGINES

Experience of the French S.E.M.T.-Pielstick medium-speed diesel engines in reliable, long-term operation on heavy oil is summarized. The specification covering fuel limits appears to permit operation on just about any type of fuel normally bunkered by motor vessels. Maintenance schedules and time required for maintenance are discussed.
