Strategic European Road Research Programme IV (SERRP IV)
This document presents the Strategic European Road Research Programme (SERRP) IV, covering the period from 2006-2011. The SERRP is the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL)’s agenda for enhancing collaboration between its institutes while providing solutions for the problems facing the roads of today and the future. The document notes the connection with the FEHRL Vision for Roads in 2025, the Programme’s firm grounding in previous SERRP activities, and the activities of the current 29 members of FEHRL. The document includes nine sections: introduction; the role of research in the FEHRL community; the background for SERRP IV; instruments for conducting the research; the Mobility, Transport, and Infrastructure Programme; the Energy, Environment, and Resources Programme; the Safety and Security Programme; the Design and Production Programme; and conclusions. Seven main types of research projects are described: FEHRL internal projects, Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) projects, national projects, joint FEHRL-industry projects, COST actions, commission co-funded projects, and commission consultancy contracts. The back cover lists each of the 29 members of FEHRL, with their logos included.
