THE PROGRAM INSTRUCTION WAS PREPARED TO PROVIDE MULTIDISCIPLINARY ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION TEAMS, AND OTHERS, WITH BACKGROUND INFORMATION, A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF ALL THE PERTINENT FACTORS, INVESTIGATIVE TECHNIQUES, TOOLS, DATA REQUIREMENTS AND FIELD PRACTICE, TO ENABLE THEM TO PROPERLY CONDUCT AN IN-DEPTH FIELD INVESTIGATION OF A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT; TO RECONSTRUCT THE ACCIDENT FROM THE DATA COLLECTED, TO DRAW CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE RESULTS OF THE INVESTIGATION, AND TO PROPERLY PREPARE A WRITTEN REPORT OF THE COMPLETED CASE. /AUTHOR/
