Research on the Travel Choice Mode Based on the Analysis of Travel Time Value
One of the most effective methods to release the traffic congestion is rationalizing the structure of the traffic modes which have relationship with the travel time value (VTT) of passengers. The paper puts forward the calculation formula of the travel time value based on the theory of random utility maximization, using the model of maximum entropy to analyze the distribution of the travel time value. The distribution model of the travel time value is solved by the improved algorithm of BFGS. A numerical example is provided to estimate the value of travel time, the chosen proportion of different traffic modes has been analyzed by the curve of travel time value and the curve of cost. It also reveals the proportion of travel choice mode varies on service level and fare. The conclusions provide reference on how to regulate the travel choice modes.
