Study on Maintenance Quality Evaluation System of Arterial Highway Asphalt Pavement
The evaluation of the results of asphalt pavement maintenance quality often doesn't match with the actual quality status based on the evaluation system in the Chinese specification, particularly for arterial highway with typical distresses. A great number of investigations were carried out on arterial highway asphalt pavements in the Jiangsu province, and different data such as distress type, distress number and distress severity were collected. Based on the investigation data combined with an expert evaluation system, the maintenance quality evaluation system was studied and a new three class evaluation system for asphalt pavement maintenance quality of arterial highways was brought forward: first class with all the distress data as parameters, second class with several typical distresses, and a single typical distress as the third class evaluation system. Combined with the application on arterial highway maintenance projects, the rationality of the new evaluation system was verified. All test results showed that the new evaluation system is more effective and reasonable compared with the old one, which has a guiding significance of formulating maintenance strategy.
