Calculation of Vertical Earth Pressure on the Culvert on Soft Foundation

This paper summarizes calculation methods of earth pressure on rigid pipes in existing literature. Their applications are analyzed as well. Based on the earth pressure distribution around the culvert on the soft foundation and considering the interaction design methods of culvert and soil, an effective and safe calculation method of the earth pressure of the culvert on the soft foundation is proposed.
