Techniques of CORS for the Development of Intelligent Transportation
The Global Positioning System (GPS) has expanded from planning and lands, surveying and mapping and the military, to the many trades and sectors of social life. Its basic theory and techniques are evolving and being perfected. At present, Techniques of Continuous Operational Reference (CORS) based on multiple reference stations network RTK (Real Time Kinematic) are booming in transportation studies and attracting a lot of researchers from universities and companies. This paper, based on the CORS system development actuality, introduces application of CORS system in road traffic domains and discusses the theories and methodologies for CORS system for transportation studies. Next, typical applications such as traffic management, logistics management, intelligent navigation, traffic information services, and traffic securities are presented in detail. The outlook for the development prospects of CORS system technology and transportation are highlighted at the end of this paper.
