Brazil – The Road Ahead
This article describes how Brazil is currently one of the most dynamic economies in the world. International interest in Brazil has increased immensely after Brazil won bids to host the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. These two important sporting events are serving as major catalysts for much needed transportation infrastructure investments, particularly in highways. Transportation is the biggest challenge and there is a deadline that has to be met. The International Road Federation (IRF) established a partnership with the Association of Brazilian Road Concessionaires (ABCR) to host the 7th Brazilian Congress on Highways and Concessions (CBR&C). This partnership will produce a global executive and technical program focusing on the needs of the fast-growing Brazilian highway market.
