APPLICATION OF HE-NE GAS LASER TO SURVEYING IN CONSTRUCTION WORKS
LASER IS NOW INCREASINGLY USED IN MANY INDUSTRIAL WORKS INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION WORKS. THE HELIUM-NEON (HE-NE) GAS LASER USED IN CONSTRUCTION WORKS HAS THE FOLLOWING ADVANTAGES; ITS MECHANISM IS SIMPLE, ITS BEAM IS VISIBLE AND CONTINUOUS, AND IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE MOST USABLE FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK SURVEYS. GAS LASER HAS BEEN USED MANY TIMES FOR SURVEYING STRAIGHT PARTS OF SHIELD DRIVEN TUNNELS BUT NOT FOR CURVED PARTS. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF A NEW DEVICE WHICH CONSISTS OF A GAS LASER AND TELESCOPE WITH A MIRROR. THIS DEVICE HELPS TO CORRECT YAW PITCHING AND ROTATING MOVEMENTS QUICKLY AND EASILY. THIS REPORT DESCRIBES A METHOD OF ADJUSTING THE DIRECTION OF THE SHIELD BY MEANS OF HE-NE GAS LASER.
