The Research for USN Applications of Parking Guidance Information System
According to the continuous increase of the number of registration of cars, the necessity of a systematic parking management system through efficient operation and management of existing parking facilities is increasing for solving parking problems and difficulties of expanding parking facilities. For this end, the introduction and establishment of a new concept parking management system with application of development communication and computer technologies to the parking management appears as an effective alternative. According to this kind of necessity, this research on USN-based Parking Information System is one field of the future type advance transport system (ITS) under ubiquitous environment, which integrates information provision technology and etc., per stage through information processing technology, integration VMS, induction VMS, individual VMS, Mobile, OBU, PDA and etc., for Wireless LAN and Mesh Network-based parking information collection technology and for provision of situation information of parking lots. USN-Based Parking Information System has shapes of service providing location and parking information of parking lots through integration guidance VMS to unspecified number of vehicles which enter and visit the object regions, introducing paths and location to individual parking lots through introduction guidance VMS and providing detailed parking information of the object parking lots through parking lot guidance VMS installed at the entrance of parking lots. In addition, technologies transmitting parking information on real-time with wireless/radio to individual vehicle utilizing Mobile, PDA, OBU, Car Navigation and etc., are applied.
