Calculation Method and Analysis of Bearing Capacity of FRP Rebar Concrete Beam
The mechanical properties of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) rebar and steel bar are very different, and the design of FRP rebar concrete beam structure could not totally follow the method of conventional steel concrete structures. The study, based on the research of specimens of FRP rebar concrete beam, analyzes the failure mode of the FRP rebar concrete beam. As for the two destructive forms, tensile and compression failure, the formula of normal cross-section bearing capacity of FRP rebar concrete beam is deduced. ANSYS software has been used to get the numerical simulation of the deformative characteristic process of FRP rebar concrete beam. The results of tests, numerical simulation and theoretical calculation are identical.
