The Regional Economic Benefit of Sichuan Province from the High-Speed Railway
This article qualitatively and quantitatively summarizes the conclusion that the construction of high speed railway in Sichuan could carry prominent economic benefits and remarkable social effects, including: Reduce the total social transportation cost, the travel time of passengers and cargo, and break the “bottleneck” of transportation and logistics; Draw the region productive forces rational distribution, and the economic integration along the route; Change the industry layout along the route by forming emerging industry groups, upgrading and updating the traditional manufacturing industry; Possess competitive power with other transport modes; Lead development of high technology and new industrial technology, and blaze scientific innovation strength; Reduce environmental costs, and favor the energy-conservation style transportation system. Finally, the article points out the solutions to questions in the process of high speed railway development in Sichuan.
