Oculomotor Characteristics of Vehicle Drivers
Vehicle drivers are the direct participants of road, traffic and environment systems. Over 90% of the driving decision-making and operation are based on visual cognition. Oculomotor is proposed as an index for safety road design and management on the basis of analyzing the relationship between the visual cognition need and oculomotor characteristics. Experimental researches indicate that drivers' fixation points and attention areas are different at different driving speeds on certain road, traffic and environment system, but there are regulations to abide. The study on oculomotor characteristics is benefit to driving safety and road design and management.
