AN ANNOTATED LITERATURE SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED ON NIGHT VISION. FIGURES OF MERIT OF ROADWAY LIGHTING ARE DISCUSSED, AS WELL AS THE BRIGHTNESS OF MERCURY LAMPS, PHOTOMETRIC LUMINANCE AND DARK ADAPTATION. THE USE OF A TACHISTOSCOPE IS RECOMMENDED FOR TESTING DRIVER'S VISION. VARIABLES OF VISUAL ACUITY, GLARE DISCOMFORT, PUPIL DIAMETER ARE DISCUSSED. THE FACTORS OF PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS AND AGE ARE DISCUSSED.
