MOVEMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF CONCRETE

Historically, books on the subject of concrete relate to the technical design and functional aspects of the material. This book is unique in that it develops in detail the many ways that concrete can be moved--from the plant to the site, and finally to its place in the structure. The author stresses the theme that the economics of concrete movement and distribution is the primary consideration, since labor is the variable cost factor. Material costs are fixed. The author believes that economical concrete placement is a function of common sense, innovation, evaluation, and a detailed study of the economics of the various possibilities for the job at hand. He has provided detailed procedures, in a practical way, for an orderly estimate development. Twelve of the fourteen chapters dealing with individual methods of distribution include check lists needed for comparative studies.
