SUMMARY OF PAPERS ON MAINTENANCE LEVELS
HOW STANDARDS ARE ESTABLISHED AND MAINTAINED BY THE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IS RAISED IN REGARD TO WHETHER IT SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OPERATING MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL OR WITH AN INDEPENDENT GROUP. RESOLVING THE LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY ISSUE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM FACING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN ESTABLISHING STANDARDS. RESEARCH OR INFORMATION EXCHANGE PROGRAMS SEEM WARRANTED SO THAT ANY STATE CAN GO TO A LISTING OF SET STANDARDS TO PREVENT DUPLICATION OF EFFORTS IN ITS OWN PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.
