FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS

Procedures for the design and installation of fire detection systems for unmanned engine rooms in ships are explained. A typical system employing ionization chamber combustion gas detectors and infrared flame detectors is described, considering number and location of detectors, checking circuits, power supplied and alarms.
