CONCRETE PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE
A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PAVEMENT CONDITION SURVEY BEING CONDUCTED BY THE PORTLAND CEMENT ASSOCIATION IS GIVEN. THE OBSERVATIONS COMPLETED IN THREE STATES SHOW THE NEED FOR THOROUGH STUDY OF THE SOUNDNESS OF AGGREGATES FOR USE IN LOCALITIES SUBJECT TO FREEZING AND THAWING AND THE NECESSITY FOR MORE COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF PROPER METHODS FOR PLACING EXPANSION AND OTHER JOINTS IN THE PAVEMENT. SOME OTHER DETAILS OF CONCRETE PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
