REPORT ON CULVERT INVESTIGATION
VARIOUS STAGES OF PROGRESSIVE DETERMINATION ARE USUALLY QUITE DEFINITE IN THE CASE OF CORRUGATED METAL CULVERTS, AND A RATING SCHEDULE FOR ASSIGNING A DEFINITE RATING TO A STRUCTURE INDICATING ITS STAGE OF DETERIORATION IS FEASIBLE. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE WITH RIGID TYPE CULVERTS WHICH ARE RETIRED FROM SERVICE THROUGH COLLAPSE AS A STRUCTURE RATHER THAN THROUGH DISINTEGRATION. A TENTATIVE RATING SCHEDULE FOR CORRUGATED CULVERTS IS SUGGESTED. A METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE ECONOMIC VALUES OF SMALL DRAINAGE STRUCTURES IS DISCUSSED.
