LABORATORY STUDIES OF THE SKID RESISTANCE OF CONCRETE
PROCEDURES ARE DEVELOPED FOR EVALUATING THE POTENTIAL SKID RESISTANCE OF CONCRETE AGGREGATES PRIOR TO CASTING A PAVEMENT AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF AGGREGATES THAT POLISH READILY. THE EFFECTS OF FINISH, EXPOSED COARSE AGGREGATES, AGGREGATE SIZE, AND ABRASIVES ON THE SKID RESISTANCE OF PAVEMENTS ARE APPRAISED. METHODS ARE PRESENTED FOR RESTORING FRICTION CHARACTERISTICS TO WORN OR SMOOTH CONCRETE. /JM/
