COASTAL BITUMEN TANKER ENGELSBERG
This ship is a highly-specialized tanker to carry bitumen products and has a number of novel features in her tank arrangement, machinery and fire-fighting equipment. Four Hedemora-Pielstick engines running at 1500 rpm are geared to a single KaMeWa propeller. The cargo tanks are heated by circulation of thermal oil from a Thermopac boiler. Details of construction are given, along with particulars of the arrangement, machinery, cargo system, and planned operating procedure.
