TESTING AND DESIGN OF ADVANCED COMPOSITE MATERIALS
TEST PROCEDURES FOR HIGH MODULUS, HIGH STRENGTH FILAMENTARY COMPOSITE MATERIALS ARE BRIEFLY REVIEWED. CURRENT METHODS FOR MEASURING MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THESE ADVANCED COMPOSITES ARE ANALYZED AND TYPICAL RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENTS ARE COMPARED. GENERAL PROCEDURES FOR DESIGN OF SUCH MATERIALS ARE ALSO CONSIDERED AND THE NECESSITY FOR ADOPTING UNIFORM TEST STANDARDS IS EMPHASIZED. /ASCE/
