THE ROLE OF PLASTICS IN REDUCING AUTOMOTIVE CORROSION
MOST AUTOMOTIVE CORROSION RESULTS FROM EXPOSURE OF DISSIMILAR METAL CONTACTS TO ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTS. PLASTICS, BECAUSE THEY ARE NONCONDUCTORS, HAVE BECOME POPULAR SUBSTITUTES FOR METALS IN MANY APPLICATIONS. THIS PAPER DISCUSSES SOME APPLICATIONS FOR PLASTICS AND GIVES REASONS WHY THE MATERIAL IS BEING USED IN INCREASING AMOUNTS BY THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY. /AUTHOR/
