THE ELASTIC MEMORY OF HEAT SHRINKABLE PLASTICS MAKES THEM PARTICULARLY EFFECTIVE AS PROTECTIVE COATINGS FOR CORROSION CONTROL. THE NATURE OF THESE PLASTICS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS ARE DISCUSSED IN THIS PAPER, INCLUDING SLEEVES FOR PIPE JOINTS, WRAP-AROUND SLEEVES, ANODE CAPS, SPLICE ENCAPSULATORS, SERVICE TEE PROTECTION, AND SEVERAL ELECTRIC UTILITY APPLICATIONS. METHODS ARE DESCRIBED AND COMPARED WITH RESPECT TO APPROPRIATE USE, RELATIVE EFFECTIVENESS, AND INSTALLATION EASE. FUTURE APPLICATIONS ARE SUGGESTED. /AUTHOR/
