PVC BARRICADES REPLACE STEEL DRUMS

ACCORDING TO THE FIRM, THE PVC STANCHIONS WEIGH 23 LB. AND REPRESENT A MAJOR SAFETY IMPROVEMENT. THEY ARE MORE FLEXIBLE THAN STEEL, AND , SHOULD A VEHICLE COLLIDE WITH ONE, THE LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY TO THE DRIVER AND WORKMEN BEYOND THE BARRICADE IS CONSIDERABLY LESSENED. THE CONICAL STANCHIONS, ROTATIONALLY MOLDED FROM A PLASTISOL BASED ON BRITISH GEON'S BREON PVC AND MANUFACTURED BY P. W. HALL LTD., GLASGOW, TAPER FROM 20 IN. AT THE BASE TO 6 IN. AT THE APEX. EACH HAS FOUR INSERTS TO RECEIVE THE PLANKING. WHEN MORE PERMANENT FIXING IS NEEDED, THE PLANKING CAN BE BOLTED TO THE STANCHION. THE PLANKING IS EXTRUDED PVC, PRODUCED IN 4-1/2 AND 8 IN.
