A METHOD OF MEASURING THE ALTERATION IN THE THICKNESS OF ROAD SURFACINGS /IN GERMAN/
AFTER A DISCUSSION OF EXISTING THICKNESS MEASURING METHODS THE PRINCIPLE OF MAGNETIC THICKNESS MEASUREMENT IS ILLUSTRATED BY THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PERMANENTLY MAGNETIC MEASURING INSTRUMENT. A DESCRIPTION IS GIVEN OF AN ELECTRO-MAGNETIC INSTRUMENT, THE WORKING PRINCIPLE OF WHICH IS SIMILAR. THE RESULTS OF TESTS ARE PRESENTED. THE INSTRUMENT ENABLES THE ABRASION OF ROAD SURFACES TO BE MEASURED ACCURATELY AND NON-DESTRUCTIVELY. /FG/RRL/
