Capacity Crunch Drives Long-Term Planning
With long-term projects including additional high speed rail lines anticipated, more than €5 billion a year is due to be spent on enhancing the French national rail network. Future priorities will be determined by shortfalls in capacity at major nodes and on their approaches. The French Rail Network (RFF) states that the level of national network investment is unprecedented. Tables provide information on RFF's public-private partnerships, as well as the major projects RFF has planned. An insert provides information on limited train speed due to ballasted track.
