FACTS RELATING TO EPOXY, POLYESTER, PHENOLFORMALDEHYDE AND FURFURAL RESIN CONCRETES ARE INDICATED. THEY HAVE EMERGED FROM THE RESEARCHES WHICH HAVE, FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, BEEN CONDUCTED IN THE INSTITUTE FOR THEORETICAL AND APPLIED MACHINES OF THE CSAV AT PRAGUE. THE REQUISITE PROPERTIES OF THE INDIVIDUAL CONSTITUENTS, FILLERS AND BINDING AGENTS, MIX PROPORTIONS OF THE INDIVIDUAL CONSTITUENTS, PREPARATION AND TREATMENT OF THE MIX HAVE BEEN DETERMINED STEP BY STEP. THE EFFECTS OF VARIOUS FACTORS UPON STRENGTH, BULK DENSITY, ABSORPTIVE CAPACITY AND OTHER TECHNOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF PLASTICS CONCRETES ARE DESCRIBED, MORE PARTICULARLY FOR FURFURAL RESIN CONCRETE (BEROL), WHICH IS DEALT WITH IN GREATEST DETAIL.
