CRITERIA OF SOIL AGGRESSIVENESS TOWARDS BURIED METALS. II. ASSESSMENT OF VARIOUS SOILS
RESULTS OF A FIVE-YEAR STUDY OF THE PROPERTIES OF 87 SOILS HAVE SHOWN THAT A RELIABLE INDICATION OF THE AGGRESSIVENESS OF SOIL TOWARDS BURIED FERROUS MATERIALS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM MEASUREMENTS OF RESISTIVITY AND OF REDOX-POTENTIAL. SOILS CONSIDERED BY THIS MEANS TO BE ON THE BORDERLINE BETWEEN AGGRESSIVE AND NON-AGGRESSIVE MAY BE RESOLVED BY A CONSIDERATION OF THE WATER CONTENT. CRITICAL VALUES FOR THE VARIOUS PARAMETERS ARE SUGGESTED. /AUTHOR/
