ACCELERATED OUTDOOR WEATHERING TESTS FOR RIGID PVC
THE ACCELERATED OUTDOORS WEATHERING TESTS STUDIES MIGHT BE USED SUCCESSFULLY FOR ELIMINATION OF OBVIOUSLY POOR WEATHERING POLYVINYL CHLORIDE FORMULATIONS, BUT NOT FOR PREDICTIONS OF ACTUAL OUTDOOR PERFORMANCE. THE ABSENCE OF A DEPENDABLE MEANS OF PREDICTING WEATHERABILITY SUGGESTS THAT ONE SHOULD INSIST UPON NATURAL EXPOSURE DATA. ONE YEAR OF GOOD PERFORMANCE IN THREE TYPICAL BUT DIFFERENT UNITED STATES CLIMATES IS RECOMMENDED AS A MINIMUM BASIS FOR THE SELECTION OF CANDIDATE MATERIALS FOR OUTDOOR USE.
