Science review - the potential application of artificial intelligence in transport
Artificial intelligence techniques have the potential to assist with the operation of the entire transport network, and in particular in enabling communication between the vehicle, the infrastructure and the driver / user. As transportation surveillance technology advances, the measurement of more complete traffic information becomes increasingly feasible. This has led to the development of intelligent transport systems to improve decision making by transport network controllers and other users, thus improving the operation of the entire transport system. The related concept of ambient intelligence embraces greater user friendliness , more efficient support for services, user empowerment and support for human interactions. In this vision, humans will be surrounded by intelligent and intuitive interfaces supported by computing and networking technology which is everywhere, embedded in homes, vehicles and roads.
