HYDROELASTICITY REVIEW OF HYDROFOIL FLUTTER
Problems associated with flutter of hydrofoils are discussed as derived more or less directly from similar consideration of aeroelastic problems; existence of liquid-free surface, cavitation effects and relative masses of structure and fluid are introduced into conceptual framework; based on early studies with simple foils and struts, theory is extended on effects of geometrical parameters, research in flutter studies with foils of finite span and sweep, real fluid effects, cavitating hydrofoils and hull motions is reported.
