WATERPROOFING IN ITALIAN RAIL TUNNEL
THE ARTICLE BRIEFLY DESCRIBES METHODS USED TO SEAL SECTIONS OF THE 10.2 KM. NOCERA-SALERRO RAILWAY TUNNEL. THE PROBLEM OF WATER SEEPAGE WAS SOLVED USING ARALDITE EPOXY RESINS WHICH COULD BE APPLIED TO A WET SURFACE. THE RESINS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY SPRAYED WITH SAND IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A GOOD BOND FOR A CONCRETE TUNNEL-LINING. /TRRL/
