WINTER ACCIDENTS IN FRANCE ARE ANALYZED AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF STUDDED-TIRE USAGE ARE CONSIDERED. THE TOLERABLE WEAR CONCEPT AND AQUAPLANING ARE DISCUSSED. ADDITIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE COSTS ARE REVIEWED AND CONCLUSIONS BASED ON THE REPORT ARE PRESENTED.
