INITIAL BUCKLING CURVES FOR A SIMPLY SUPPORTED PLATE WITH A VEE-SHAPED CORRUGATION
A METHOD IS DEVELOPED FOR THE DESIGN OF STIFFENED PLATES, WHEREBY CORRUGATIONS ARE FOUND IN THE PLATE TO INCREASE THE BUCKLING STRESS. BUCKLING STRESS CURVES ARE GIVEN FOR THE CASE OF A PLATE, WITH A SINGLE CORRUGATION, FOR REQUIRED PLATE DIMENSIONS. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION IS GIVEN OF BUCKLING MODES CORRESPONDING TO THE BUCKLING STRESS CURVES SHOWN.
