DUST CONTROL IS IN THE BAG
A BAG-TYPE DUST COLLECTING DEVICE FOR ASPHALT PLANTS IS DESCRIBED. DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE SYSTEM WHICH CONSISTS OF A SERIES OF DUST FILTER BAGS MOUNTED ON WIRE STEEL CAGES INSIDE AN INSULATED, PANEL HOUSING. DUST LADEN GASES ARE INTRODUCED INTO THE COLLECTOR AT BOTTOM OF THE HOPPER SECTION. AT THIS POINT, AIR VELOCITY IS LOW AND HEAVIER PARTICLES DROP FROM THE AIR STREAM INTO A DISCHARGE SCREW ON HOPPER BOTTOM. COMPRESSED AIR IS USED TO CLEAN THE BAGS WHICH MAY ALSO BE CLEANED BY LAUNDERING OR DRY CLEANING. THE SAFETY DEVICES IN THE SYSTEM ARE REVIEWED AND ADVANTAGES IN THE USE OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE ENUMERATED.
