HIGH-MAST LIGHTING.
THE NEW CONCEPT OF USING LUMINAIRES AT GREATER MOUNTING HEIGHTS, WHICH IS FINDING WIDESPREAD APPLICATION FOR HIGHWAY INTERCHANGES, PARKING LOTS AND OTHER OUTDOOR AREAS IS REPORTED. SEVERAL BASIC PROCEDURES ARE USED TO REACH THE HIGH-MOUNT FIXTURE ASSEMBLY FOR REPAIR, RELAMPING AND CLEANING. THESE ARE POLE STEPS, SERVICE CARS, BUCKET TRUCKS, AND LOWERING DEVICES. SUPPORT SYSTEMS MAY BE A BRACED TOWER OR A SINGLE TAPERED POLE. THE 1000-WATT METAL-HALIDE LAMP IS USED EXTENSIVELY. /AUTHOR/
