AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR AUTOMOTIVE MEDICINE; PROCEEDINGS OF THE 11TH ANNUAL MEETING
TWENTY-TWO PAPERS ARE PRESENTED DEALING WITH THE PRE-CRASH PHASE, ANALYZING CAUSATIVE MECHANISMS AND ADVANCING CONTROL MEASURES, AS WELL AS ASPECTS OF THE ACTUAL CRASH PHASE AND POST-CRASH FINDINGS AND NEEDS. THE SUBJECT EMPHASIS IS ORIENTED TOWARD VISUAL REQUIREMENTS AND OCULAR TRAUMA. THERE ARE PAPERS ON THE FACTORS OF ALCOHOL, DISTURBANCES OF CONSCIOUSNESS, CORONARY INSUFFIENCY AND ARRHYTHMIAS, AND DRIVER EDUCATION. RESTRAINT SYSTEM EFFECTIVENESS AND KINEMATICS OF CERVICAL SPINE INJURIES ARE COVERED IN THE CRASH PHASE. CARE OF THE CRASH VICTIM IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
