THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COLLISION VEHICLES ARE DESCRIBED. CONTRIBUTING VEHICLE FACTORS IN CAUSING ACCIDENTS ARE SHOWN TO OCCUR WITH RELATIVELY LOW INCIDENCE BETWEEN THE 5 AND 10% LEVEL. THE CRASH PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE IS OUTLINED FOR THE VARIOUS TYPES OF COLLISIONS AND PARTICULAR EMPHASIS IS PUT ON SPEED AND VEHICLE DAMAGE, ROOF COLLAPSE IN ROLL OVER, SEAT MOUNTING AND DOOR LATCH FAILURE. /SPIS/
