AMBULANCE DESIGN CRITERIA
THE DEVELOPMENT OF DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA FOR AMBULANCES BY PHYSICIANS, AMBULANCE OPERATORS, AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS AND SPECIALISTS IN RELATED FIELDS WAS STUDIED. HISTORICAL AND TECHNICAL BACKGROUNDS ARE PROVIDED AND THE NEED FOR THESE STANDARDS DESCRIBED. SPECIFIC DESIGN CRITERIA ARE GIVEN IN A SYSTEM DESCRIPTION FORMAT THAT HAS 33 CLASSES. ANY CLASS MAY HAVE SUB-CLASSES AND SUB-SUBCLASSES. AN ALPHABETICAL INDEX IS PROVIDED TO FACILITATE THE LOCATION OF PARTICULAR VEHICLE ELEMENTS OR CHARACTERISTICS.
