SAFETY EVALUATION OF THE FIRST NUCLEAR SHIP IN JAPAN
Main results of the examination carried out by the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards ( ACRS ) to evaluate the safety of the first nuclear ship in Japan are discussed. After analyzing the hazards in varous cases of ship and reactor accidents, the ACRS agreed that the safety of the ship could be secured. The results of a safety analysis on NS Savannah analyzed in accordance with the guide of Japan AEC is also presented.
