EVALUATION OF HIGH-LEVEL INTERCHANGE AREA LIGHTING AT TWO SOUTH DAKOTA LOCATIONS
THE RESULTS ARE REPORTED OF A SUBJECTIVE EVALUATION OF TWO HIGH-MAST INTERCHANGE LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS FOR A SERIES OF 100 FOOT TOWERS. IN ADDITION TO THE SUBJECTIVE IMPRESSIONS, MEASURES ARE MADE OF AVERAGE SPEED, ACCELERATION NOISE, GALVANIC SKIN RESPONSE, AND SYSTEM PHOTOMETRICS. THE APPARENT VISIBILITY WAS IMPROVED AT THE INTERCHANGES WHEN SUBJECTIVELY COMPARED WITH THE SAME INTERCHANGE BEFORE THE LIGHTING WAS TURNED ON. THE OBJECTIVE MEASURES PRODUCED NO CONCLUSIVE RESULTS. /BPR/
