FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
THIS STUDY WAS CONDUCTED TO GATHER ACCIDENT DATA THAT WOULD BE USEFUL IN THE SELECTION OF PRIORITIES FOR HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AND TRAFFIC ENGINEERING STUDIES. THE STUDY INVESTIGATED THE RELATIVE FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY OF ACCIDENTS IN DIFFERENT KINDS OF LOCALITIES AND AT SIGNALIZED AND UNSIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS. THE YEAR-TO-YEAR CHANGES IN THE FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY OF ACCIDENTS ARE ALSO REPORTED. /AUTHOR/
