AUTOMATIC ICE DETECTORS
TWO AUTOMATIC ICE DETECTORS WERE INTALLED ON BRIDGES IN IDAHO IN AN EFFORT TO COMBAT HIGH ACCIDENT RATES ON SLICK BRIDGES BY PROVIDING ADVANCE NOTICE TO MOTORISTS OF HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS. EQUIPMENT AND OPERATION ARE DESCRIBED.
