OPTIMIZED AGGREGATE UTILIZATION
A MAJOR CONSIDERATION IN SELECTING A CONCRETE AGGREGATE DEPOSIT CONCERNS THE AMOUNT OF MATERIALS PRESENT THAT CAN BE PROCESSED TO MEET SPECIFICATION ON GRADATION. A MATHEMATICAL PROCEDURE WAS DEVELOPED FOR ESTIMATING THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF A GIVEN GRANULAR MATERIAL THAT CAN BE MADE TO SATISFY ARBITRARY GRADING SPECIFICATIONS WITHOUT RESORTING TO BLENDING OR MANUFACTURING MATERIALS. AN OPTIMUM SOLUTION CAN ALWAYS BE FOUND THAT MAY OR MAY NOT INVOLVE LINEAR PROGRAMMING. SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS ARE PRESENTED FOR ANALYSIS OF CONCRETE AGGREGATE GRADATION. /AUTHOR/
