INFLUENCE OF BOUND SULPHUR IN THE FORM OF SULPHIDE ON THE SUSCEPTIBILITY TO SWELLING OF BLAST-FURNACE SLAG /IN RUSSIAN/
THE ROLE OF SULPHUR IN THE SWELLING OF BALST- FURNACE SLAG IS DESCRIBED. SWELLING IS ANALYZED TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE TWO FORMS OF THE CRYSTALLIZATION PROCESS. THE SWELLING OF THE SLAG IS MAINLY CAUSED BY DISSOLVED GASES EMITTED DURING THE CRYSTALLIZATION OF MOLTEN SLAG. THE POSITIVE INFLUENCE EXERTED BY SULPHUR ON THE SUSCEPTIBILITY TO SWELLING OF SLAG IS RELATED TO THE FORMATION IN MOLTEN SLAG OF A MORE ELASTIC CRYSTALLINE FRAMEWORK CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING DEFORMATIONS. /LCPC/RRL/
